Artist Biography
Alice Robertson trained as a portrait artist in the classical naturalist tradition, in Florence, Italy.
Having worked for six years as a full-time portrait painter she now works on other themes as well. These include still life work, especially working from nature. This led to a week painting with the A Rocha group in Aberdeenshire.
‘I would like to do more art which is relevant to and can help and build community and am looking for ways to do that. The A Rocha group seemed to be one way. I also enjoy exploring the theology of beauty, and how deeply beauty (and ugliness) can affect us. I enjoy working alongside other artists and help run a life drawing group and various other workshops.'
